Moon Maze Game by Larry Niven & Steven Barnes.

This is the third loose sequel to Dream Park by the same authors. The books all deal with people playing in a real role-playing game, run by a Disney-like park with animatronic, holographic and actor-played monsters. Of course, the game isn't enough and in the first Dream Park, someone is killed and they have to solve it all while keeping the game in play.

In Moon Maze Game, it's the first game to be played on the Moon. Ali, a prince of a country in Africa, joins incognito. Unfortunately, word gets out, kidnappers show up & the game turns horrifyingly real.

I like these books. They're not high literature, but they're fun!
