  • Location: Classroom - 205

Program Location: Classroom - 205

Description:
Paige Menton will share photos and stories about the incredible biodiversity and ecological restoration work she has witnessed in trips back to Alabama, her home state, including the work of Alabama Audubon, which hosted the Black Belt Birding Festival that she attended in August. She will also share some simple steps that you can take to increase the habitat on your property for birds and other wildlife.

Presenter: Paige has been growing flowers and food for over twenty years. She founded Journeywork in 2022 to offer people hopeful, energizing ways to respond to climate change together. She has a permaculture design certification, has taught gardening to children for several years, and is a caretaker at Gwynedd Friends Meeting. She is a former elementary school teacher and has a master’s in environmental education. She grew up in the Cahaba River watershed, now lives near the headwaters of the Wissahickon, and enjoys birding in both of those places and everywhere else.

At Liberty Bird Alliance, formerly Wyncote Audubon Society, we welcome everyone to experience the joys of birding. Our mission as an organization is to care for birds, for their habitats, and for the conservation efforts that will keep them with us for generations to come. And we hope you’ll join us in that effort!

Liberty Bird Alliance monthly meetings are open to the public and held on the second Tuesday of most months from September through May.

Libery Bird Allicance is a Chapter of the National Audubon Society serving the nearly 2000 Audubon members who reside in major portions of Montgomery County and Philadelphia including Chestnut Hill, East Falls, Manayunk, Mt. Airy, Roxborough, North Philadelphia and Northeast Philadelphia.
