Description: Join us for this interactive roundtable discussion - The idea of the American Dream dates back to the Declaration of Independence rooted in the promises of “life, liberty and pursuit of happiness”. Intended to be an inclusive philosophy, it often sparks debate about who really has access to those promises.
Is the American dream realistic in the context of when it was written? Is it realistic and attainable now? What does Independence Day mean to different communities? What’s being celebrated, what's challenging about it, and who's missing from the picture?
Join us in a community conversation as we explore the concept of the American Dream and explore its origins and evolution and discuss what it looks like for families and our communities today as the 4th of July approaches.
WHYY Bridging Blocks is an interactive community conversation that brings people together to engage in meaningful civic dialogue on issues that matter.
