Description:
Can One Age Gracefully in Montgomery County? The 2020 Census tells us that over 2.5 million residents are aged 65 and older in Pennsylvania. In addition to that, the Commonwealth's older adult population is growing 20:1 compared to the rest of Pennsylvania’s population. According to the U.S. News & World Report, 7 of the top 10 best places to retire in the United States are in Pennsylvania–and that’s out of a total of 150.

Is society—or more specifically, Montgomery County—doing everything possible to ensure our oldest residents can live comfortably and safely? What are the experiences of older Americans and what can be improved? How can communities foster social inclusion and combat ageism to ensure older adults feel
connected and valued?

WHYY Bridging Blocks is an interactive community conversation that brings people together to engage in meaningful civic dialogue on issues that matter.
