Our Board of Directors guides us toward fulfilling our mission of stimulating public interest in our Library & supplementing funding to support the UDPL’s cultural, educational, and special needs. The Board also acts as a liaison between the Friends and library administration. 

The Friends Board meets the 2nd Thursday of each month, 1:00-2:00 pm in the Library, except for the Annual Meeting in November, which is held in the evening. Virtual participation is available. Contact friendsudpl@gmail.com.

The Friends are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to fill immediate vacancies on their Board of Directors.

If you're looking for a meaningful leadership opportunity and a chance to put your skills to work for the community, consider joining the Friends. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Friends serve as the Library's fundraising partner, supporting many of UDPL's most popular programs, including Summer Reading Club, STEAM initiatives, author events, and Adult Discovery & Learning programs.

Today, the Friends boast nearly 600 members, making membership support their largest source of annual revenue. Board members play a vital role in sustaining and growing this support while working closely with Library leadership to strengthen services and opportunities for the community.
